Stevie Ray Vaughn
One day my dad told me to come and listen to this CD he just found. So he put the CD in and I got ready to listen...what I was about to hear would change my life. This guy on the CD
reallyscared me. I never heard anything that even came close to what this guy was playing. He was just the most amazing guitarist I had ever heard. I told my dad,"this guy is crazy! What's his name?" Stevie Ray Vaughn my dad said...and since then I was hooked. I never thought that I could even come close to being able to play any of his songs so I told my dad to put the CD away........a year later I was looking around my dads CDs when I came across the CD again. This time round I was a little more experienced and confidant. I started listening to the CD and by the end I felt that maybe...just maybe I could learn to play one of his songs. Well its 2002 now and I'm still learning after 5 years. He still scares me everytime I listen to him play. I've learned most of his songs and I've tried to sound just like him. By far he is the only guitarist that inspired me to keep playing and work hard at the guitar. I've adopted some aspects of his style and added it to my own developing style. If you have never heard him play then I strongly suggest that you download some of his songs. Stevie Ray Vaughn died August 27, 1990 in a helicopter crash after leaving a concert in which he had just finished performing in. He was just 36 years old. In my opinion he is the greatest musician to ever play the blues guitar.
JIMI HENDRIX
Yea this is Jimi...this is the guy that changed everything. I don't know how someone can listen to his music and not be inspired somehow. He was fucking crazy. Sometimes I listen to him and I'm like...wtf...how does he do that?!
Master of distortion and he single handedly made the Strat popular again. He's the greatest guitar icon and one of my influences. One of the best blues players of all time. Jimi Hendrix died on September 18 1970.
PATRICK ROY
Ever since I was a little kid...I always looked up to Roy. I would try to collect as many Roy cards as I could. My drawing books are filled with Roy. He is the reason why I chose to become a goaltender at the age of 6. He is the top post-season goaltender of all time. He is the king of the butterfly style and just that damn good. Even after all these years I still look up to him and try to copy his style.
